About

Hey Legends,

my name is Simon Fitz. I am a 30 year old ocean and photography enthusiast from Germany. I spend most of my time traveling through France, Indonesia and California to capture the classic surf scene around these countries. I feel a deep rooted connection to certain moments, people and experiences in my life. That’s when my artistic approach is converting into a photograph! Photography is the language that I communicate best with and a tool to transform these moments in an artistic approach! My goal is to place my inner vision in the intersection between the classic surf culture and modernist interpretations!

The feelings of seeing things in individual ways and with a wide range of emotions is my highest priority! I try to give every subject I shoot the same amount of energy so I can start to see things from different perspectives and bring everything back to myself! For me surfing doesn’t necessarily need to be differentiated in dreams and reality! I think it’s completely how we feel about it in a certain moment of our life’s!

“I think with surf-photography and especially surfing its not what you’re doing its how you’re doing it. And no one is telling you how you should or shouldn’t doing it. It’s all up to you and your weird and crazy brain. Im trying to communicate my vision through new experiences and different standpoints of what a real surf-photo is! I want my audience to feel different about surfing after they had a look at my photos!”
